I saw this home featured on Ready Made and was just completely blown away. Talk about incorporating your natural surroundings! They must know how it feels to be an ant now. Check out this awesome example of “subterranean alpine living.”

This home, featured on Digs Digs, is simply amazing. I love the fresh color pops in every room and the mid-century modern furniture. The natural light in the kitchen is also simply divine. Check it out and tell us what you think:

As featured on iransdesign, this contemporary home combines the luxuries of modern design in a naturalistic and eco-friendly design:

I absolutely love the jewel tones in the living room:

And the unexpected hints of color throughout the home:

The concrete with two different woods really work well in the open kitchen.

This Boston modern home was designed by Marcel Breuer in 1957. The open floorplan, ample natural light and retro bookcases are making us swoon. I love how the decor reflects the home’s time period but with a modern edge, like with the modern sofa and sheepskin throw. And do you see those awesome dining table chairs? I love!

This contemporary take on retro decor features a neon sign cityscape:
Comic book pop art hangs in this modern living room:
This minimalist modern look is enhanced with huge botanical photographs that flank the fireplace:
And perhaps sometimes you need to be more literal in your interpretation of art:
I found the VitraHaus, built by Herzog & de Meuron, to be amazing. Originally designed to be 12 individual houses, the VitraHaus is now home to the Vitra Design Museum.

The exterior is austere, with its muted grey design.

The uniquely-shaped windows illuminate the sterile appearance.

The bright white interior works with the natural light to keep the design fresh, clean and modern.
Perhaps this modern townhouse, sandwiched between traditional townhouses, does not stand out too much while you’re strolling down this small street in Sweden…

but when faced with the exterior head-on, it’s prodigious design almost looks like it was Photoshopped in:

The interior is much like its exterior: an entirely white palette with clean, modern appeal.

Natural light is enjoyed in all of the rooms, with expansive windows and a huge skylight.

These backsplashes from ModWalls are pretty awesome. Which is your favorite? Would you consider putting in a custom backsplash for your place?

This gorgeous modern apartment in the Upper West Side in Manhattan has gone green. The 3,000 square foot home was remodeled by Hariri & Hariri and featured in Architectural Digest. “The architects… hooked up all the systems—heating, cooling, lighting, shades, humidity, audiovisual, computers and telephone—to a brainy computer hidden in a closet off the bar.” A smart home, indeed.

This year’s Modern Atlanta Home Tour will be happening June 5th-6th. That entire week (beginning on the 1st) will be proclaimed “Modern Atlanta” Week.
